Eagles Strike First With 55-Yard TD

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The Eagles struck first on Sunday as Nick Foles completed a 55-yard touchdown pass to DeSean Jackson on the second play of the Eagles' second drive of the afternoon. Provided excellent protection, Foles heaved the ball deep to his playmaker, though Jackson was well covered down the field. Packers cornerback Tramon Williams and Packers safety Morgan Burnett each deflected the ball into the air, only for it to fall perfectly into the hands of Jackson, who backpedaled into the end zone to give the Eagles an early 7-0 lead.

The Eagles started with the ball to begin the game and notched three first downs before they stalled around midfield. On the ensuing Packers possession, Mason Crosby missed a 53-yard field goal off the right upright, gifting the Eagles solid field position. Two plays later, the Eagles were on top.

Meanwhile, left tackle Jason Peters left the game to be evaluated for a head injury and is questionable to return. Allen Barbre has replaced Peters at left tackle.

UPDATE: Peters returned briefly but then suffered a quad injury and will not return.
