The Eagles announced a series of roster moves ahead of the team's trip to London on Friday afternoon.

Eagles sign center/guard Jake Majors and running back Carson Steele to the active roster

After signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent in 2025, Majors joined the Eagles' practice squad in September of 2025 after being waived by the Buccaneers with an injury designation. The former Texas Longhorn played in all three 2026 preseason games for Philadelphia. The trade of longtime center Cam Jurgens to the Ravens and the recent injury to Drew Kendall opened up an opportunity for Majors on the offensive line.

After signing a reserve/future contract back in January with the Eagles, Steele made his mark during the preseason - recording two receiving touchdowns, leading the Eagles in receiving yards in two games, and hurdling two Patriots. The third-year power back originally signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2024 out of UCLA. Steele joins Dameon Pierce as the two running backs signed to the active roster this week after injuries to Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby - the latter of whom was placed on Injured Reserve.

Eagles release quarterback Andy Dalton

Dalton joined Philadelphia from Carolina this offseason in exchange for a seventh-round pick in the 2027 NFL Draft. The 16-year NFL veteran won the No. 2 quarterback position after Training Camp and preseason, backing up Jalen Hurts for the first few games of the season.

Dalton went 18/35 (51.4%) for 168 yards, one touchdown, and zero interceptions throughout three preseason games for the Eagles – splitting reps with Tanner McKee and rookie Cole Payton.

The three-time Pro Bowl quarterback was a second-round selection by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2011 NFL Draft. He spent nine seasons with the Bengals, primarily as the starter, before going on to play for the Cowboys, Bears, Saints, and Panthers.

Eagles place defensive tackle Uar Bernard on the Practice Squad Injured list

The Eagles drafted Bernard in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft from the International Pathway Program. An athlete from Nigeria, Bernard ran a 4.6 40-yard dash, recorded a 10-10 broad jump, and managed 31 bench reps at the HBCU and International Pathway Pro Day. The 6-foot-4, 306-pound rookie made his first-ever football tackle in Week 2 of the preseason against the Patriots. Bernard was waived during the Eagles' final roster cuts, but was quickly signed to the practice squad for development. – Written by Caroline Connor
