Eagles sign DE Kasim Edebali and place DE Joe Ostman on Injured Reserve

The Eagles signed defensive end Kasim Edebali with the team's preseason opener against Tennessee just two days away. To make room for them on the roster, defensive end Joe Ostman was placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury.

Edebali is a fifth-year veteran who previously had stints in New Orleans, Denver, Detroit, and Cincinnati. A rookie free agent signing of the Saints in 2014 out of Boston College, Edebali has 55 tackles and eight sacks in 62 career games.

Born in Hamburg, Germany, the 6-2, 253-pound Edebali played in one game for the Bengals last season. Edebali was on the field for all 48 games in his first three seasons with the Saints.

Ostman was in his second Training Camp with the Eagles. A rookie free agent signing in 2018, Ostman spent his rookie season on the Eagles' practice squad. He was injured during a special teams period on Sunday night.

Eagles sign cornerback Ajene Harris, waive/injure tackle Casey Tucker

In the middle of Tuesday's practice, the Eagles announced that they signed cornerback Ajene Harris, who participated in the Rookie Camp on a tryout basis. To make room on the roster, the Eagles waived/injured tackle Casey Tucker. Harris was a quarterback in high school, but started at USC as a wide receiver. He transitioned to cornerback and had three interceptions as the team's nickel in 2017. Last year, Harris played both cornerback and nickel for the Trojans.
