One day after the Eagles placed running back Tank Bigsby on Injured Reserve, the team filled his spot on the 53-man roster with another running back – Dameon Pierce from the practice squad.

"He's an NFL starting running back that's on our practice squad," Head Coach Nick Sirianni said on Wednesday prior to the announcement. "Unfortunately with Tank being down right now, we got a really good back and you guys saw him run the football when he had opportunities in the preseason and you've seen him run the football when he's been the lead back. I just remember how much I loved his college tape. I don't know how much you've talked to him, but he's an awesome, awesome kid and great teammate and somebody that's great to be around on a daily basis regardless of what his circumstances are."

Fitting that Pierce (5-foot-10, 215 pounds) is signed to the active roster to make his Eagles debut ahead of the international trip to London to play the Jaguars. A former fourth-round pick of the Houston Texans in 2022, Pierce played against the AFC South rivals Jacksonville while with the Texans. Pierce gained 99 yards and a touchdown in a win over Jacksonville in his rookie season.

The Eagles filled Pierce's spot on the practice squad with wide receiver Erik Ezukanma, who was with the team in the preseason and posted four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown.

Ezukanma was a fourth-round pick by the Miami Dolphins in the 2022 NFL Draft out of Texas Tech. The 6-foot-2 receiver spent three years with the Dolphins before being waived ahead of the 2025 NFL season. After a brief stint on the Jaguars' practice squad, Ezukanma signed with the United Football League's D.C. Defenders.

Through 12 games with the Defenders this year, Ezukanma amassed 264 receiving yards for one touchdown, rushed for 71 yards while averaging 8.4 yards per carry in the regular season, and totaled 621 yards on kick returns.

The Fort Worth, Texas native was named District 3-6A Offensive MVP for Timber Creek High School and committed to play football for Texas Tech. Through four years in Lubbock, Ezukanma finished his collegiate career with 138 catches for 2,165 receiving yards and 15 touchdowns.
