Eagles sign CB Tremon Smith to the practice squad

The Eagles signed cornerback Tremon Smith to the practice squad on Wednesday. Smith was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs in the sixth round of the 2018 NFL Draft. During his tenure, he played in 14 games, recorded five combined tackles, and had a major presence on special teams as the punt returner.

Smith spent 2019 Training Camp with the Chiefs along with preseason prior to being waived on September 14. He was then claimed by the Green Bay Packers, where he played in seven games and accounted for three combined tackles.

In order to make room for Smith, safety Chris Johnson was released from the practice squad. Johnson was signed to the practice squad on November 26.
