The Eagles announced on Tuesday that they have signed cornerback Mac McCain off of Denver's practice squad to the active roster.

A rookie free agent signing of the Broncos out of North Carolina A&T, the 6-foot, 175-pound McCain started all 29 games he played in over three seasons with the Aggies.

As a freshman in 2017, McCain was a first-team all-conference and third-team FCS All-America selection after recording six interceptions and returning three of them for touchdowns. He was the FCS National Player of the Week after a three-interception, two-touchdown performance against Morgan State.

He earned All-MEAC honors again in both 2018 and 2019 before the 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. McCain ran a 4.48 in the 40 and jumped 35.5 inches during the HBCU Combine prior to the 2021 NFL Draft.

The Greensboro, North Carolina, native is the grandson of the late Franklin McCain, who was a part of the famous 1960 Woolworth lunch-counter sit-in protest that is credited for helping kick-start the modern-day Civil Rights Movement.
