The Eagles announced on Tuesday that the team has placed running back Tank Bigsby on Injured Reserve. The team has also released linebacker Anfernee Orji from the practice squad.

After a rushing attempt, Bigsby had to leave the field late in the fourth quarter on Sunday after being evaluated by medical staff. Bigsby was carrying the bulk of the workload out of the backfield against the Rams after starting running back Saquon Barkley exited the game in the first quarter with a hamstring injury. The fourth-year running back has recorded 28 carries for 91 yards so far this season, averaging 3.3 yards per carry. In Week 2 against the Titans, Bigsby scored a touchdown on the ground in the win.

Drafted out of Auburn in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Bigsby started his career with the Jaguars. In his second year as a Jaguar, Bigsby rushed for 766 yards and seven touchdowns during the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles acquired the former Auburn Tiger in a trade with Jacksonville during Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season.

Orji was signed to the Eagles' practice squad last week. The Commodore started his NFL career by signing with the New Orleans Saints after going undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2023. Known for his athletic ability in the pre-draft process, Orji ran a 4.52 40-yard dash at the 2023 NFL Scouting Combine at 230 pounds. The linebacker spent his rookie season on the Saints' practice squad in 2023, then made the team's active roster in 2024, playing in 16 games and recording 30 tackles.

Orji signed with the Titans in 2025, but was waived three months later with an injury designation after tearing his ACL during a 2025 joint practice. The 6-foot-1 linebacker was with the New York Giants during 2026 Training Camp before joining the Eagles. - Written by Caroline Connor

On October 2nd, six new rookies joined the Eagles family. Eagles fans part of the Make-A-Wish foundation signed contracts with General manager Howie Roseman, explored the Eagles' locker room, toured Lincoln Financial Field and the Jefferson Health Training Complex, and met Eagles players after practice.
