Eagles Open Season Sept. 11 In St. Louis

The Eagles are slated to be on NBC's Sunday Night Football at least three times (at Atlanta on September 18, vs. Dallas on October 30, and at New York Giants on November 20). They will also host a game on ESPN's Monday Night Football (vs. Chicago on November 7) and play on NFL Network (at Seattle on Thursday, December 1).

"The release of the NFL schedule is something that the teams and their fans look forward to every year," said Eagles president Joe Banner. "We are very proud as an organization to play in eight nationally televised games for the second year in a row. It's a credit to our tremendous fan base on both the local and national levels. The league continues to do a great job emphasizing divisional games toward the end of the season as our final two games against the Cowboys and Redskins will also bring a great level of excitement."

The Eagles open up their 2011 campaign with two straight road games (at St. Louis on September 11, followed by a trip to Atlanta in week two). They then host the New York Giants in their home opener on Sunday, September 25. The Eagles' bye week occurs week 7 on October 23rd. Following the bye, Philadelphia has three straight home games (vs. Dallas, vs. Chicago, and vs. Arizona), including two consecutive appearances on prime time. The Eagles play their final two games of the regular season against division rivals as they play at Dallas on Christmas Eve and host Washington in the season finale on January 1.

Other scheduling nuggets:
• The last time the Eagles played St. Louis in the season opener was in 2008 in a 38-3 victory at Lincoln Financial Field
• The Eagles have a 25-16 (.610 winning percentage) all-time record versus the four teams currently in the AFC East, including an 8-0 mark against the New York Jets
• This marks the fourth consecutive year the Eagles and San Francisco 49ers will square off and the sixth time in seven seasons. The Eagles currently hold a five-game winning streak over the Niners since 2005 and have a 18-10 (.643 winning percentage) record vs. NFC West teams under head coach Andy Reid
• They will play the Chicago Bears for the fifth consecutive year. The past four contests between the two teams have been decided by five points or less
• The Eagles and Atlanta Falcons go head-to-head for the fourth straight season and the 10th time under Andy Reid (including playoffs). They are 8-1 in those games and have won the last four
• The last time the Eagles had three straight home games in three straight weeks was in 2005. They hosted three consecutive home games in 2009 in a span of four weeks.
• The Eagles open the regular season with two straight road games for the first time since 2002. They also begin with four road games in their first six contests for the first time since 1996 and 1997
• This will be the fourth straight year the Eagles have played their regular season finale against a division rival
