Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field achieve GBAC STAR accreditation

The Philadelphia Eagles have announced that Lincoln Financial Field has achieved Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC) STAR accreditation, the highest standard for prepared facilities. Under the guidance of GBAC, a Division of ISSA, the worldwide cleaning industry association, Lincoln Financial Field has implemented the most stringent protocols for cleaning, disinfection, and infectious disease prevention.

As the cleaning industry's only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation, GBAC STAR helps organizations establish protocols and procedures, offers expert-led training and assesses a facility's readiness for biorisk situations.

"This accreditation is a big step for us because it further validates our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, clean, and healthy environment at Lincoln Financial Field," said Jason Miller, Eagles senior vice president of operations. "We are grateful to have the support of the entire organization, including Jeffrey Lurie and Don Smolenski, who empower us to continuously seek out opportunities to showcase and certify our stadium. We would also like to thank the Global Biorisk Advisory Council for recognizing our dedication to high operational standards."

To achieve GBAC STAR accreditation, Lincoln Financial Field was required to demonstrate compliance with the program's 20 core elements, which range from standard operating procedures and risk assessment strategies to personal protective equipment and emergency preparedness and response measures.

The GBAC STAR accreditation is the latest honor awarded to the Eagles and Lincoln Financial Field. In August, the Eagles were credited with a SAFETY Act designation by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, which recognized the team's commitment to safety, security, and overall preparedness at Lincoln Financial Field. In December 2018, Lincoln Financial Field became LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council for implementing practical and measurable strategies and solutions aimed at achieving high performance in: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality. A few months earlier, in June 2018, the Eagles became the first professional sports team to achieve ISO 20121 certification, which is an international standard designed to help organizations in the events and hospitality industry integrate sustainability into management practices and processes.

Home to the Philadelphia Eagles, Lincoln Financial Field is a prime destination for world-class entertainment that offers a high-quality experience to guests in a safe, clean and friendly environment. Since opening in August 2003, Lincoln Financial Field has become famous for showcasing high-profile sporting events and entertainment. The state-of-the-art facility located in the heart of Philadelphia has hosted 34 star-studded concerts and some of the world's most distinguished soccer clubs. Lincoln Financial Field is also home to Temple University football, the historic Army-Navy Game, NCAA Lacrosse Championships and many other marquee events.
