Game Recap: Giants 34, Eagles 17 | Week 6

The Eagles lose their second game of the season, falling to the Giants on Thursday Night Football.

The Eagles lost their second consecutive game, falling to the New York Giants, 34-17, at MetLife Stadium on Thursday Night Football. The Eagles fall to 4-2 while the Giants improve to 2-4.

Here is how it happened:

1st Quarter

4th-and-5 at NY 24 (12:46)

  • Field Goal! Jake Elliott makes a 42-yarder to give Philadelphia the lead on the opening possession. Saquon Barkley started the series with runs of 18 and 13 yards. (Eagles 3 – Giants 0)

3rd-and-7 at PHI 19 (10:05)

  • Jaxson Dart runs 20 yards on the opening New York possession to give the Giants the lead. Lil'Jordan Humphrey, who was elevated from the practice squad for the game, caught a 34-yard pass on 3rd-and-13 to extend the drive. (Giants 7 - Eagles 3)

2nd-and-9 at PHI 35 (5:49)

  • Wan'Dale Robinson has a 35-yard catch-and-run on a scramble drill from Jaxson Dart to extend the New York lead. Robinson had a 26-yard catch earlier in the drive. Jude McAtamney misses the extra point. (Giants 13 - Eagles 3)

2nd-and-goal at NY 3 (1:54)

  • TOUCHDOWN! Dallas Goedert has a 3-yard touchdown on a shovel pass from Jalen Hurts to cut into the Giants lead. The drive got going with a 30-yard completion down the sideline to A.J. Brown and a 23-yard pass to Dallas Goedert two plays later. (Giants 13 - Eagles 10)

2nd Quarter

2nd-and-goal at NY 1 (7:02)

  • TOUCHDOWN! Jalen Hurts with the Tush Push to give the Eagles the lead. The drive was highlighted by three straight completions of 15+ yards to A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Jahan Dotson. The Eagles ran four straight Tush Pushes for the touchdown. (Eagles 17 – Giants 13)
  • Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell is questionable to return with a hamstring injury.

2nd-and-goal at PHI 4 (1:21)

  • Cam Skattebo runs it in from 4 yards out to put the Giants in front. New York converted multiple third downs on the possession. (Giants 20 - Eagles 17)

3rd Quarter

  • Cornerback Quinyon Mitchell is out for the game with a hamstring injury.

1st-and-goal at PHI 1 (7:59)

  • The Giants add to their lead with a 1-yard touchdown from Cam Skattebo. The Giants started the drive at their own 44-yard line. (Giants 27 - Eagles 17)
  • Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart comes out of the game after getting sacked by Patrick Johnson. The sack was Johnson's first of his career. Russell Wilson enters the game for New York.
  • Dart was evaluated for a concussion and got cleared.

4th Quarter

2nd-and-10 at NY 15 (11:36)

  • Jalen Hurts throws his first interception of the season on a red zone pass intended for Jahan Dotson. Cor'Dale Flott returns it 68 yards, and the Giants will start deep in Philadelphia territory. It was Hurts' first interception in his last 305 regular season attempts.

1st-and-goal at PHI 1 (9:47)

  • The Giants extend their lead with a 1-yard touchdown run from Cam Skattebo, his third of the game. The score was set up by a 20-yard pass interference penalty in the end zone. (Giants 34 - Eagles 17)

1st-and-10 at NY 37 (7:01)

  • The Eagles drive into New York territory, but a fumble by A.J. Dillon gives the Giants possession.

Up Next

The Eagles have a mini bye before visiting the Minnesota Vikings next Sunday at 1 PM. The Vikings (3-2) have their bye this week coming off a last-minute win over the Browns in London.
