The Eagles are saddened to learn of the passing of former player William "Bill" Mackrides, who played for the Eagles from 1947-51. He was a member of the Eagles NFL Championship teams of 1948 and 1949. He played in 39 career games for the Eagles.
Age 93, on January 22, 2019, of White Horse Village, formerly of Springfield. Beloved husband of the late Louise (Martinelli), devoted father of The Hon. William C. "Chip" (Nancy), Michael S. (Donna), Brian M. (Shelby) and Joyce Bonner (Jim). Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by his brother John and lifelong friend Dr. Benedict Coren. Memorial Service Saturday, February 2, 2019 , 12 Noon at White Horse Village, 535 Gradyville Rd., Edgmont, where friends may call after 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers donations to The Alzheimer's Association, 399 Market St., Suite 102, Phila., PA 19106. Interment private.
