Eagles announce three roster moves ahead of kickoff

The Eagles announced the following roster moves on Monday ahead of tonight's kickoff against the Seattle Seahawks.

• Eagles active DE Genard Avery from Injured Reserve

Avery was placed on Injured Reserve with an elbow injury on October 30. He's played 68 snaps on defense and 50 snaps on special teams over the course of six games this season. A reserve pass rusher, Avery has six tackles, 1.5 sacks, and six QB hits in 2020. The Eagles will have their full complement of defensive ends available for tonight to go against Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson, who has been sacked 33 times this season – second most in the league.

• Eagles elevate TE Caleb Wilson from the practice squad

Zach Ertz was not activated off Injured Reserve, so Wilson will serve as the No. 3 tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Richard Rodgers. This is the third time that the Eagles elevated Wilson from the practice squad, but once was as a COVID-19 replacement. Wilson made his NFL debut in Week 10 at the New York Giants. He's played 12 snaps on special teams over the past two games. The Eagles can no longer call up Wilson from the practice squad unless he's signed to the active roster or it's as a COVID-19 replacement. The Eagles hope to have Ertz in the lineup next Sunday at Green Bay.

• Eagles elevate DT T.Y. McGill from the practice squad as a COVID-19 replacement

This is the fifth time that McGill has been called up from the practice squad and the third as a COVID-19 replacement. In four games, McGill has played 61 snaps on defense and another 16 on special teams. McGill has accumulated four tackles, two for loss, and a half-sack this season.
