Eagles announce several roster moves ahead of Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the Buccaneers

On Saturday, the Eagles announced the following roster moves ahead of Sunday's Wild Card Round matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

• Signed TE Richard Rodgers to the active roster

The Eagles had an open spot on the active roster. Rodgers takes the place of Tyree Jackson, who suffered a knee injury against the Cowboys last Sunday.

Rodgers is not the typical practice squad player with 10 career playoff games under his belt. In those games, Rodgers has 13 catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

The Eagles have three tight ends going into Sunday's game with Rodgers, Dallas Goedert, and Jack Stoll.

• Elevated G/T Kayode Awosika, WR KeeSean Johnson, and DE Cameron Malveaux from the practice squad for Sunday's game

The Eagles elevated Awosika as a COVID-19 replacement (more on that below). Awosika is a 6-3, 312-pound rookie out of Buffalo who made his NFL debut playing 43 snaps last Sunday against the Cowboys.

Johnson is a 6-1, 201-pound third-year player who spent his first two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He did not play in a regular-season game this year but suited up for 18 games (5 starts) with the Cardinals. Johnson has 36 receptions for 360 yards and a touchdown on his resume. This will be his first playoff game.

Malveaux has been elevated from the practice squad for each of the past three games. He's played 66 total snaps on defense. The 6-6, 265-pound defensive end will also be making his playoff debut.

• Placed DT Marlon Tuipulotu on the Reserve/COVID-19 list

The sixth-round rookie out of USC played in five games during the regular season, including 26 snaps on defense in last Sunday's finale against the Cowboys.
