Eagles Announce Preseason Broadcast Crew

The Eagles are pleased to announce the 2009 pre-season broadcast lineup will include former Eagles players Hugh Douglas and Kevin Reilly and Herm Edwards. Rounding out the broadcast crew will be the Eagles' own Dave Spadaro on the sidelines. With over 25 years of NFL playing experience between them, this year's commentators will bring excitement as well as on-field knowledge into the booth, all under the direction of Artie Kempner, FOX NFL director and eight time Sports Emmy winner.

"I'm looking forward to the upcoming NFL season and I am especially thrilled to spend the preseason in the booth for the Eagles," said color analyst Herman Edwards. "It's always a great feeling to come back to my original NFL home in Philly, as I have many fond memories here as a player. Eagles fans are some of the most loyal and passionate in the NFL, which always makes for an exciting gameday atmosphere."

"I have been here since my playing days were over – and I have been working in the field of broadcasting," said color analyst and former Eagles defensive end Hugh Douglas. "I am learning the business one step at a time and this is a terrific opportunity to connect on another level with the most passionate and honest fans in the NFL. They will tell you exactly how they feel and I am excited to bring the game back to them again – this time on the Eagles Television Network." Video Player : Time's Yours

"I was a young fan at Franklin Field, an Eagles linebacker at the Vet and now I get to broadcast the preseason in the TV booth at Lincoln Financial Field!," said play-by-play announcer Kevin Reilly. "I know the town, the fans, the players and the passion that surrounds this Eagles season. And I know something else ... this could be a very special Eagles football team! Button your chin strap, we're in for a wild ride!"

Artie Kempner, FOX NFL director added, "I'm very excited to be part of ETN and the Eagles preseason TV package. The fans of Philadelphia are passionate and knowledgeable, and we plan on matching that passion and knowledge with insightful and informative coverage. Herm, Hugh and Kevin know Eagles football, but more importantly, they know what the Eagles' fan wants - a smash-mouth, no excuse, tell-me-the-real-story broadcast. They'll get that on Thursday night!"

"It has been 13 seasons of preseason games for us and we have had some very talented people in the booth – but the group this year has something that no other crew has had - the experience of playing for the team," said executive producer Rob Alberino. "An all Eagles Alum booth is something we are very excited about and couple that with Artie Kempner and his expertise and the games should be off the charts!"

This crew will be a part of the Eagles games on Thursday, August 13th vs. New England, Thursday, August 27th vs. Jacksonville and Thursday, September 3rd when the Eagles play at the New York Jets. All games will be shown on 6ABC locally (Satellite: Galaxy 3C (95 degrees West); Transponder 21C).

And don't forget the opportunity for one lucky Eagles fan to join the broadcast team and be an Eagles sideline reporter on gameday! Eagles Television Network (ETN) is running a contest called, "Time's Yours" throughout the pre-season with the winner earning a spot as a part of ETN's on-air gameday crew. The winner will be awarded a spot as a reporter in the September 3rd game vs. the New York Jets reporting the 3rd and 4th quarter of the game from the sidelines.

Fans can enter the contest by uploading a one-minute long audition video demonstrating their best Eagles Sideline reporting skills. The contest is open to men and women ages 18 and older from Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. For more information and to enter, click here.
