Conflicting Reports On Gruden

Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reported that the Eagles will meet with Gruden on Wednesday. It would be the first of two scheduled interviews for the 45-year-old Gruden, who is also scheduled to meet with the Cardinals on Thursday.

However, Tim McManus of Birds 24/7 was the first to report that LaCanfora's report is not true. The Eagles were granted permission by the Bengals to speak to Gruden about the head coaching vacancy on Tuesday.

Gruden wrapped up his second season as the offensive coordinator in Cincinnati. He is credited with the rapid development of Pro Bowl quarterback Andy Dalton. Gruden has been a quarterback himself in the World League and the Arena Football League.

Prior to joining the Bengals, Gruden has NFL experience as an assistant on his brother Jon's staff in Tampa Bay. He also has been a head coach three times - twice in the Arena League (1998-2001, 2004-08) and once in the UFL (2010).
