Cody Kessler starts at quarterback for Eagles in Jacksonville

Carson Wentz is in uniform, without pads, as Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro said on the Kickoff Show presented by Axalta that Cody Kessler will start at quarterback against Jacksonville on Thursday night.

Head coach Doug Pederson told Ross Tucker on the Kickoff Show that he wants to see "consistency" from Kessler. With Nate Sudfeld sidelined for the foreseeable future after breaking his left wrist, the Eagles want to solidify the backup quarterback position behind Carson Wentz entering the regular season.

Expect some of the starters on defense to get some playing time, if only a series or two in this game tonight.
