Chip Kelly: Michael Vick Will Practice

Head coach Chip Kelly said on Wednesday morning before practice that quarterback Michael Vick took reps with the first-team offense for the first time since injuring his hamstring in the Week 5 win over the New York Giants.

Following Tuesday's practice, Vick said that he is "optimistic" that he will return to the lineup for the rematch with the Giants this Sunday. Kelly simply said that Vick will practice Wednesday and he doesn't think his quarterback "ran 100 percent" on Tuesday.

Nick Foles "is doing better," per Kelly, in his recovery from a concussion suffered last Sunday against Dallas. Foles will not practice. He still has to go through the league concussion protocol before returning to action.

Kelly added that rookie Matt Barkley took some of the first-team reps in Tuesday's practice, but Vick took a majority of them.

Other injury updates: Safety Patrick Chung (shoulder) was full-go on Tuesday which was "encouraging," said Kelly. Cornerback Bradley Fletcher was limited with swelling in his knee and linebacker Jake Knott was out with a hamstring injury.

The Eagles and the Giants will release their first official injury report of the week later today.
