CB Samuel, OT Justice Do Not Practice

Even though he indicated that he would practice on Thursday, offensive tackle Winston Justice did not participate in the workout according to the team's official injury report. Cornerback Asante Samuel, who was a limited participant on Wednesday, sat out practice.

Justice has a hyperextended knee and said for the second straight day that he still hopes to play Sunday night in Dallas. If he can't play, King Dunlap - who started two games at left tackle in place of Jason Peters - would get the starting nod.

Samuel, meanwhile, has missed the last two games due to a knee sprain suffered in the win over the Giants. If the league's leader in interceptions can't play, Joselio Hanson would start at left cornerback and move inside in the nickel package. Rookie Trevard Lindley plays on the outside in the nickel package.

"I'm preparing as if I'm starting," said Hanson. "If that changes, so be it. I'll be ready to go. Dallas has a lot of things they do well, so we have to play smart, play well and give it our best performance."

Defensive coordinator Sean McDermott said on Thursday that Samuel is "day-to-day," but went into more detail about how Samuel's absence has affected the defense.

"That's huge. He's a very good player, very good player," McDermott said. "(He's) a Pro Bowl corner. With Asante, though, comes that leadership, that veteran leadership, that experience. When things get out of kilter as they do in the ups and downs of a game, having a veteran player at that corner certainly helps to nail things down. We look forward to having him back."

It appears that defensive end Juqua Parker, who also has missed the last two games with a hip injury, will be available for Sunday night. PArker has been a full participant in each of the last two practices.

For the Cowboys, linebacker Keith Brooking (foot) took part in Thursday's practice, but on a limited basis. Fellow starting linebacker Bradie James (knee) was a full participant. Neither Brooking nor James practiced on Wednesday.
