Calvin Placed On IR; More On Injuries

Jorrick Calvin has been placed on injured reserve with a low back injury, ending his season. Calvin had been the primary kickoff returner and part-time punt returner for most of the season. No corresponding move has been made yet, though the Eagles reportedly worked out return specialists Justin Miller and Clifton Smith earlier this week.

In the meantime, DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin can handle punt return duties, while Maclin, Eldra Buckley and Chad Hall all have experience returning kickoff.

Elsewhere on the injury front, defensive tackle Mike Patterson returned to the practice field as a limited participant Thursday after sitting out Wednesday's practice with a sore knee. Linebacker Keenan Clayton (hamstring) missed practice for the second straight day, while middle linebacker Stewart Bradley (elbow) has already been declared out. Jackson (foot) was a limited participant Thursday after practicing in full Wednesday.

For the Vikings, the big injury news was the return to practice of All-Pro running back Adrian Peterson, who was a limited participant after not practicing Wednesday and not playing last Monday night with a knee injury. Quarterback Brett Favre missed another practice and is listed on the injury report for a concussion, a neck injury and a right shoulder injury. Rookie Joe Webb is expected to start for the Vikings under center Sunday night at Lincoln Financial Field, but Favre can't be counted out after going from declared out to playing last week.

Starting safety Madieu Williams was also missed his second straight practice with a concussion. For the full injury report for both the Eagles and the Vikings, click here.
