Bradley Blog: Offense Made It Easy

Shutting down the run early and making the Cardinals essentially a one-dimensional team helped the defense be successful. Other teams came out in previous games and tried to establish the run earlier. Like watching the Giants' film; they came out and ran the ball a lot on the first drive, so we knew the Cardinals were going to test us there and they did. We made some plays and then we got into a one-dimensional game. We have to credit the offense for doing that. When they put points on the board, it's easier to play with the lead.

Having the offense score on the first two drives was huge. The offense played great. The Cardinals have a good offense as well, but when we're making that many plays on offense, making those types of big plays and eating that much clock up, it's easy to play defense.

Beating a team that's most likely going to the playoffs proves we can beat good teams. They are ahead in their division and they're looking to clinch home-field advantage. Beating them in the fashion we did is definitely a confidence-booster for us.

A focal point for us was putting all three phases together, playing well on special teams, playing well on defense, playing well on offense and I think we did that tonight. I think when we do that, you can see the type of results we are capable of getting.

We have to have a short memory of both the good and the bad from the last few games. We have to correct the mistakes we had tonight and get ready for New York. I think tonight's game was a must-win situation for us. We knew that, came out as intense as we could and tried to establish a physical presence early. Photo Gallery : ARI vs. PHI 11-27-08
