Bears hire Ian Cunningham as assistant GM

The Chicago Bears announced on Saturday night that they have hired former Eagles Director of Player Personnel Ian Cunningham to serve as the team's new assistant general manager.

A two-time Super Bowl Champion, Cunningham joined the Eagles as the team's director of college scouting in 2017, a role he served in for two seasons before being promoted to assistant director of player personnel for the 2019 and '20 seasons.

Cunningham was named director of player personnel in the 2021 offseason where he oversaw the college scouting department and did crossover work on the pro scouting side along with Brandon Brown, who also holds the title of director of player personnel.

Prior to his five years in Philadelphia, Cunningham spent nine seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, rising the ranks from player personnel assistant to area scout.

An offensive lineman at the University of Virginia, Cunningham started 31 career games, earning several accolades after his freshman season. The Carrollton, Texas, native signed with the Kansas City Chiefs as a rookie free agent in 2008.
