As part of a special sweepstakes running through May 14, Eagles Autism Challenge participants can enter to win a meet-and-greet with Aiono and VIP access to Friday's Kick-Off Party at Lincoln Financial Field

The Eagles Autism Challenge presented by Lincoln Financial Group is thrilled to announce that Interscope recording artist Alex Aiono will serve as the headline performer at the team's inaugural cycling and 5K run/walk charity event on Saturday, May 19 at Lincoln Financial Field. A rising star in the music industry, the 22-year-old singer/songwriter has collaborated with Grammy Award-winning performers such as Babyface and John Legend.

Registered members of the event will have the opportunity to win a special VIP experience with Aiono. Participants who are 18 years of age or older can enter now through Monday, May 14 by submitting an entry form here, which lists complete entry rules. The winner and three guests will receive an invitation to a meet-and-greet with Aiono at the NovaCare Complex on Friday, May 18 and VIP admission to the Eagles Autism Challenge Kick-Off Party on Friday night at Lincoln Financial Field.

"Our goal is to provide an unparalleled, once-in-a-lifetime experience for our Eagles Autism Challenge participants and what better way to do that than by welcoming in a star like Alex," said Ryan Hammond, Eagles Autism Challenge Executive Director. "Our overall excitement for what we have in store on May 19 was already very high, so by adding Alex into the mix has really put it over the top for us."

The L.A.-based artist first amassed a following of millions creating his own "flipped" versions of popular songs, including his "One Dance" mash-up which has gone on to total more than 62 million views. In the last year, Aiono has released five original songs – "Thinking About You," "Work The Middle," "Question," "Does It Feel Like Falling feat. Trinidad Cardona," and "One At A Time feat. T-Pain" – which he has performed on his winter North American Feels Like Tour 2018. He also released "Hot2Touch with Felix Jaehn and Hight," which has been certified Platinum in Germany. With his live shows, as well as his 2.5 million Instagram followers, 5.5 million YouTube subscribers, and over half a billion views, most impressive is how Alex engages with his fans. Aiono is currently working on his debut album for Interscope Records.

"Autism has touched my life directly," said Aiono. "I know families facing autism and I have friends with autism. One of my sisters works with children on the spectrum and with the numbers rising so fast, I think it would be hard to find people who don't have a connection. The fact that the Philadelphia Eagles can be champions off the field like this makes them greater champions on the field and I'm so honored to be a part of this event."

The Eagles Autism Challenge presented by Lincoln Financial Group is a landmark cycling and 5K run/walk fundraising event dedicated to raising funds for innovative autism research and programs. Set to take place on Saturday, May 19, the Eagles Autism Challenge features the Wawa Junior 15-Mile Ride, Wawa Shorti 30-Mile Ride, and the Wawa Classic 50-Mile Ride, along with the family-friendly "five Below 5K Run/Walk." All routes begin and end at Lincoln Financial Field, with the finish line taking place at the 50-yard line. One hundred percent of participant-raised funds will be directed to autism research and programs at three nationally recognized institutions: Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Drexel University, and Thomas Jefferson University and Jefferson Health.

Autism is one of the fastest-growing developmental disorders in the country. As of April 2018, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released its latest facts and figures which indicate that autism prevalence has increased from one in every 68 children to one in every 59. Autism has been historically underfunded, misunderstood, and under-researched. The Eagles Autism Challenge is working to bring thought leaders in the field of autism together to collaborate on groundbreaking research that will have a transformational impact around the world.
