A Closer Look At The Season Openers Under Reid

Here is a closer look at the season openers under head coach Andy Reid ...

- vs. Arizona, Lost 25-24 - In Andy Reid's first game as head coach, the Eagles took a 21-0 lead but thanks to Arizona quarterback Jake Plummer, the Cardinals rallied with 13 unanswered fourth-quarter points for a come-from-behind 25-24 win.

- at Dallas, Won 41-14 - With the temperature soaring above 100 degrees at game time, the Eagles turned to pickle juice and special teams chicanery in the form of an opening onsides kickoff while Duce Staley rushed for 201 yards to stun the Cowboys in Dallas, 41-14.

- vs. St. Louis, Lost 20-17 (OT) - Trailing by two touchdowns in the fourth quarter, quarterback Donovan McNabb rallied the troops as the Eagles tied the game at 17 only to watch "The Greatest Show on Turf" steal a 20-17 win in overtime.

- at Tennessee, Lost 27-24 - After the Titans lost defensive end Jevon Kearse and the Eagles watched guard John Welbourn exit dut to injuries on the first series, the Eagles surrendered a 14-point halftime lead en route to a 27-24 loss to the Titans in steamy Tennessee.

- vs. Tampa Bay, Lost 17-0 - Opening Night of Lincoln Financial Field turned anticlimactic after the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Bucs suffocated the Eagles, 17-0, limiting Philadelphia's time of possession to just 22 minutes.

- vs. New York Giants, Won 31-17 - For the first time in four years, the Eagles started the season with a win after newly acquired receiver Terrell Owens hooked up with quarterback Donovan McNabb for three touchdowns as Philadelphia routed the New York Giants, 31-17, at Lincoln Financial Field.

- at Atlanta, Lost 14-10 - Pro Bowl linebacker Jeremiah Trotter got into a scuffle at midfield before the game and was ejected, leaving the Eagles susceptible to the run in a 14-10 loss in Atlanta.

- at Houston, Won 24-10 - Acquired just 13 days prior to the game, receiver Donté Stallworth developed an almost instant connection with quarterback Donovan McNabb, hauling in six passes for 141 yards and a score as the Eagles defeated the Texans, 24-10, in Houston.

- at Green Bay, Lost 16-13 - Despite holding Brett Favre and the Packers without an offensive touchdown, J.R. Reed's muffed punt return with just under two minutes left in the contest led to the game-winning field goal and capped a gaffe-filled opener for the Eagles, who fell in Green Bay, 16-13.
