1. DeSEAN JACKSON: BEST OF THE BEST IN HIS CAREER

DeSean Jackson on Wednesday was named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week for his performance on Sunday against the New York Giants. It was the fifth Player of the Week honor for Jackson (three times Offensive Player of the week, two times Special Teams Player of the Week) in his career. The honor was the first for the Eagles since Kurt Coleman was named the NFC's Defensive Player of the Week (Oct. 16) and LeSean McCoy was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 30) in the 2011 season.

Earned NFC Special Teams POW honors for his performance at Car. (9/13) when he broke an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown, the second of his career and the second-longest in team history (Vai Sikahema, 87 yards on 11/22/92 at NYG). His 106 punt return yards that day was the 3rd-highest total in franchise history behind Vai Sikahema (111) and Reno Mahe (108)

Notched NFC Special Teams POM honors in Sept. with a 22.2 punt return average and an 85-yd punt return for a TD vs. Car. (9/13)

Earned NFC Offensive POW honors at Was. (10/26) with a career-long 67-yd rushing TD on the game's opening drive. Also caught a 57-yard TD pass from Donovan McNabb, becoming the second player in team history to have a rushing and receiving touchdown of 50+ yards in the same game (Bosh Pritchard had a 75-yd. catch and 77-yd. rush vs. Was. on 10/23/49)

Earned NFC Special Teams POW honors at NYG (12/13) when he had a 72-yd punt return for a TD, his second of the season and the third of his career to set a new team record. Also had a 60-yd TD reception and posted a career-high 178 yds

Garnered NFC Special Teams POM honors in Dec. with a 14.4 punt return average and a 72-yard PR for a TD at NYG (12/13)

Named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling a career-high 210 receiving yards – a 60-yarder to open game and 91-yard TD catch and run to score winning points in victory over Dallas

Earned NFC Offensive Player of Week honors with 7 receptions, 132 yards and one touchdown as Eagles defeated Giants, 36-21

4. GETTING TO KNOW: DL CEDRIC THORNTON

Since joining the Eagles as a rookie free agent in 2011, Cedric Thornton has made great strides. He spent '11 on the practice squad, and then earned a place on the 53-man roster in 2012. Now Thornton starts at defensive end, moves inside to nose tackle at times and is one of the most-improved players on the roster.
