What a way to open the 2025 NFL season!
As just announced on The TODAY Show, the Super Bowl LIX Champion Philadelphia Eagles will raise the banner and begin defense of their title against the rival Dallas Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field on Thursday, September 4 at 8:20 PM. The game will be televised on NBC, streamed on Peacock, and broadcast on 94WIP.
The Eagles swept the Cowboys in dominant fashion in 2024, capturing the two contests by a combined score of 75-13. The 41-7 triumph over the Cowboys in Week 17 clinched the NFC East title for the Eagles, who will look to become the first team since the Eagles from 2001-04 to win consecutive NFC East crowns.
The Cowboys finished 7-10 in 2024, with a 3-3 record in the division, as quarterback Dak Prescott was injured for most of the season. After missing the playoffs, Dallas turns to a new head coach in Brian Schottenheimer, who served as the Cowboys' offensive coordinator the previous two years. This past week, Dallas acquired wide receiver George Pickens to boost the offense as a complement to four-time Pro Bowl wideout CeeDee Lamb.
