The Pro Football Hall of Fame revealed its initial list of 182 nominees in the Seniors Category for the Class of 2025. Thirteen of the players are former Eagles.
- LB Maxie Baughan – A member of the Eagles Hall of Fame, Baughan was the 20th overall selection in the 1960 NFL Draft. He earned five Pro Bowl selections in six seasons with the Eagles. Baughan was an All-Pro and Pro Bowl player for the 1960 NFL Championship Team.
- LB Bill Bergey – Acquired in a blockbuster trade with the Bengals in 1974, Bergey helped turn the franchise around and was a foundational piece for the 1980 NFC Championship Team. A three-time team MVP and four-time Pro Bowl selection in Philadelphia, Bergey is a member of the franchise's Hall of Fame.
- RB Timmy Brown – A member of the Eagles Hall of Fame, Brown once held the record for the longest kickoff return (105 yards) in franchise history. He still shares the NFL record for most kickoff return touchdowns in a single game (2 vs. Dallas in 1966, helping spark the rivalry). At the time of his retirement, Brown was the third-leading rusher in team history.
- QB Roman Gabriel – Spent the final five seasons of his NFL career with the Eagles after 11 with the Rams. Gabriel led the NFL in passing yards and touchdowns in his first year in Philadelphia, earning Pro Bowl honors for the fourth time in his career. He was also named by PFWA as the NFL Comeback Player of the Year that season.
- TE Jimmie Giles – Finished his career with two-plus seasons in Philadelphia but earned Pro Bowl honors during his nine-year stint with Tampa Bay.
- WR Harold Jackson – A two-time Pro Bowl selection in four years with the Eagles, Jackson led the league twice in receiving yards and once in receptions. He authored a league-best 13 touchdowns one year after leaving Philadelphia when he earned both Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors with the Rams.
- QB Ron Jaworski – The Eagles and the Rams have some unique connections over the years and Jaworski, who was acquired by the Eagles from Los Angeles in 1977, is another. The Eagles Hall of Fame quarterback spent 10 seasons in Philadelphia and guided the team to its first Super Bowl appearance in the 1980 season.
- K Norm Johnson – Closing out an 18-year NFL career with the Eagles in 1999, Johnson was a two-time Pro Bowl and one-time All-Pro prior to arriving in Philadelphia.
- LB Seth Joyner – The NFL's Defensive Player of the Year in 1991 was part of the infamous Gang Green unit that led the league in rushing, passing, and total defense. Joyner is the only player in team history to record at least 35 sacks and 15 interceptions. He was inducted into the Eagles Hall of Fame in 2018.
- WR Mike Quick – Quick's broadcast partner in the SportsRadio 94WIP booth, Merrill Reese, was honored by the Pro Football Hall of Fame earlier this year with the Pete Rozelle Award. Could Quick be on the cusp of a gold jacket? Quick earned five consecutive Pro Bowl berths and posted three straight 1,000-yard seasons, leading the league in receiving yards in 1983.
- RB Herschel Walker – Walker spent three of his 13 NFL seasons with the Eagles, surpassing 1,000 yards in his first year with the team. However, Walker is forever known for being the centerpiece of the trade from Dallas to Minnesota, which involved 18 players and draft picks.
- K/WR Bobby Walston – A member of the 1950s All-Decade Team, Walston is second on the franchise's all-time leading scorers list with 881 points. He scored 46 touchdowns, 365 extra points, and 80 field goals during his 12-year career that included the 1960 NFL Championship. Walston is enshrined in the Eagles Hall of Fame.
- T Al Wistert – The only former Eagle on this list to have his jersey (No. 70) retired by the team, Wistert earned All-Pro honors four times and was the starting tackle for the back-to-back NFL Championship Teams of 1948 and '49.
The 182 players nominated in the Seniors Category for the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be whittled down to 50 players over the next several weeks.
To be eligible in the Seniors Category, players must have been retired since the 2000 season. In addition, players must have been in the league for at least five seasons and recognized with at least one postseason honor during their careers.
By the end of the fall, there will be three players from the Seniors Category selected as finalists for induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2025 next August.
The Eagles have been preparing all week for their Monday Night Football matchup against the Falcons.
