Acquired in a 1958 trade with the LA Rams, Van Brocklin went on to quarterback the Eagles for three years. The fiery signal caller helped turn a last place Eagles into a NFL championship squad in 1960. This storybook ending would garner him the league's MVP award and provide a fitting end to his playing career as he retired at the end of that season. An All-America selection at Oregon, he went on to participate in 10 Pro Bowls and throw for 23,611 yards and 173 TDs in 12 seasons. He was born March 15, 1926 in Eagle Butte, SD.

1958: After spending the first nine years of his career on the Rams, Van Brocklin was traded to the Eagles. In his debut season in Philadelphia, Van Brocklin led the league in completions (198) and threw for 2,409 yards and 15 touchdowns, making the Pro Bowl.
1959: Van Brocklin had 2,617 passing yards and 16 touchdowns, earning a Pro Bowl nod.
1960: Van Brocklin was a Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro during the championship season. He threw for 24 touchdowns in the regular season and had 204 passing yards and a touchdown in the title game.
