A two-time Pro Bowler and member of the NFL 1950s All-Decade Team, Walston was one of the league's most unique talents, excelling at WR and TE while also serving as the team's placekicker throughout his 12-year career in Philadelphia. From 1951-62, he led the NFL in points scored (881, 2nd-most in franchise history) and ranked 4th in receptions (311), 5th in receiving yards (5,363) and 6th in receiving TDs (46). His 25-point performance at Washington on October 17, 1954 still stands as the Eagles' single-game scoring record.

YEAR-BY-YEAR

1951: Drafted in the 14th round, Walston started 12 games as a rookie and had 31 grabs for 512 yards and a touchdown. He also made six field goals for the Eagles.

1952: Walston caught 26 passes for 469 yards and three touchdowns. He made 11 field goals and all 31 of his extra point tries.

1953: Walston posted career highs in receptions (41) and receiving yards (750). He made 93.8% of his extra point attempts.

1954: With 11 touchdown catches, Walston set a career best. He also added 581 receiving yards.

1955: Walston had 27 grabs for 443 yards and three touchdowns.

1956: In 12 starts, Walston posted 590 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

1957: Walston had 11 catches for 266 yards, averaging 24.2 yards per reception. He led the league in field goal percentage at 75%.

1958: Walston went for 298 receiving yards, hauling in a career-long 71-yard pass. He made all 31 of his extra point attempts.

1959: On 16 grabs, Walston had 279 yards and three touchdowns.

1960: In his age 32 season, Walston made his first Pro Bowl, registering 563 receiving yards and four touchdowns as he helped the Eagles win the NFL Championship. He led the league in field goal percentage at 70%.

1961: Walston returned to the Pro Bowl with 34 catches for 569 receiving yards and two scores. He also made a 42-yard field goal, setting a career best.

1962: In his final season, Walston had 43 yards on four grabs.
