Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is expected to start tonight's game against the Seattle Seahawks. Hurts was downgraded to questionable on Sunday with an illness. He flew separately from the rest of the team for precautionary reasons and is now feeling well enough to play.
Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith is active after being questionable with a groin injury. The same injury kept the veteran sidelined last week against the San Francisco 49ers. However, backup quarterback Drew Lock is expected to start.
The Eagles will be without three key starters for tonight's contest, find out who:
LB Zach Cunningham: The veteran will miss his second game of the season, this time with a knee injury.
G Cam Jurgens: A pectoral injury will keep Jurgens on the sideline tonight.
QB Tanner McKee (3rd QB): The rookie will serve as the emergency quarterback and can only play if Jalen Hurts and Marcus Mariota get injured.
TE Albert Okwuegbunam: With three tight ends active, Okwuegbunam will not dress.
RB Rashaad Penny: The offseason acquisition has seen just 11 offensive snaps this season in two games played. He will not play against the team that made him a first-round pick.
CB Darius Slay: The veteran cornerback underwent arthroscopic knee surgery last week, forcing him to miss an unknown amount of time.
Linebacker Zach Cunningham, guard Cam Jurgens, and cornerback Darius Slay are three starters for the Eagles who are out tonight with their respective injuries.
Newly acquired All-Pro linebacker Shaquille Leonard will likely see an increase in defensive snaps with Cunningham inactive.
Either Sua Opeta or Tyler Steen will start at right guard for Jurgens. Both have started games this season.
Head Coach Nick Sirianni announced on Saturday that Slay underwent arthroscopic knee surgery earlier in the week. There is no timetable set on his return, although the injury is not expected to be season ending.
Safety Reed Blankenship, who left last week's game with a concussion, was a full participant during Saturday's practice and has no game status designation.
Defensive end Josh Sweat was absent from Saturday's practice due to personal reasons. He will play.
Cornerback Mekhi Garner was elevated from the practice squad this afternoon. In his third NFL game, Garner will provide depth in the secondary and help on special teams.
The Seahawks will be without starting safety Jamal Adams (knee) and starting cornerback Devon Witherspoon (hip pointer).
