In honor of Dr. Seuss's birthday and Read Across America Day, Eagles Youth Partnership and Santander Bank teamed up and hosted a book donation event with more than 3,000 books collected for Philadelphia Reads to distribute to at-risk youth. At the event, nose tackle Beau Allen channeled Dr. Seuss during story time and reminded students that "You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax. All you need is a book." Before the book presentation, Allen, along with EYP's Storybook Man, read Dr. Seuss stories to more than 50 local students from West Oak Lane Charter School. The kids then enjoyed a meet-and-greet opportunity with the Eagle and SWOOP.

The Santander Book Drive was established in 2015 in partnership with EYP, which serves more than 50,000 low-income children in Greater Philadelphia. EYP selected Philadelphia Reads, a nonprofit organization that provides meaningful opportunities for individuals, community groups and foundations to help students build strong literacy skills by the end of third grade, as the Santander Book Drive beneficiary. The new books, which were donated by employees and customers across 60 local Santander branches, were then distributed to students at Philadelphia Public Schools.
