Add another first to Carson Wentz's résumé.

The Eagles' quarterback was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Month for September on Thursday. He is the first player in franchise history to win the award.

The No. 2 overall pick helped guide the Eagles to a 3-0 start. Philadelphia ranks seconds in the league in scoring and is the only team to not turn the ball over this season.

Wentz ranks fifth in the NFL in passer rating with a 103.8 mark. He is one of only two quarterbacks to have a passer rating of 100 or more and not thrown an interception along with San Diego's Philip Rivers. Wentz's 125.9 passer rating in the Week 3 win over Pittsburgh was the highest by a rookie in franchise history. He also has the third highest, which came in the season opener against Cleveland (101.1).

Here are some other notes from Wentz's first month in the NFL:

• Wentz is the only rookie quarterback to start and win his team's first three regular season games without throwing an interception since the 1970 NFL merger. Became just the second NFL rookie QB to start the season 3-0 in that span (Mark Sanchez, 2009 with NYJ).

• According to ESPN Stats & Info, Wentz is the first rookie in NFL history to throw 1 TD and 0 INTs in each of the first three games of the season.

• Has attempted 102 consecutive passes without an interception, the longest streak ever by a rookie to begin his NFL career. The last Eagles QB to record 100 pass attempts and 0 INTs in the first three games of the season was Donovan McNabb in 2004.

• Made his NFL debut vs. Cleveland in Week 1, becoming the first Eagles rookie quarterback to start in a season opener since Davey O'Brien in 1939 and the first to play on opening day since Randall Cunningham in 1985. Led the team to a 29-10 victory, becoming the first Eagles rookie quarterback to win a home game since Donovan McNabb against St. Louis at the end of the 1999 season.

• Selected by the Eagles with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, becoming the franchise's highest-drafted player since Donovan McNabb (also second overall) in 1999. Only five quarterbacks have been chosen in the first round by Philadelphia: Wentz, McNabb, John Reaves (1972), Frank Tripucka (1949) and Davey O'Brien (1939).

• Since 1971, only seven non-FBS quarterbacks have been first-round draft choices: Wentz (North Dakota State, 2nd, 2016), Joe Flacco (Delaware, 18th, 2008), Steve McNair (Alcorn State, 3rd, 1995), Ken O'Brien (UC Davis, 24th, 1983), Phil Simms (Morehead State, 7th, 1979), Doug Williams (Grambling State, 17th, 1978) and Dan Pastorini (Santa Clara, 3rd, 1971).

The NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month award has been won three times by an Eagle, most recently by safety Nate Allen in September 2010.
