Fernando Noriega is entering his first year as the Philadelphia Eagles' head strength and conditioning coach. He comes to the Eagles following a five-year stint (2016-20) with the Los Angeles Rams.
With the Rams, Noriega served as a strength assistant (2017-20) and strength and conditioning intern (2016). In 2017, his first full-time season with Los Angeles, Noriega worked under Eagles Vice President of Player Performance and former Rams head strength and conditioning coach Ted Rath, who was named the Strength Coach of the Year by the Professional Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association. Additionally, Los Angeles finished as the healthiest team in the NFL based on adjusted games lost due to injury, according to Football Outsiders.
In 2015, Noriega served as a strength and conditioning intern at Cal State Long Beach while earning his master's degree in kinesiology and exercise science. At the same time, Noriega was as a strength and conditioning coach for El Monte (CA) High School's football program.
Noriega originally began his career as a strength and conditioning coach at EM Speed and Power Training from 2013-14.
A graduate of Whitworth University with a bachelor's degree in kinesiology and exercise science, Noriega was a three-year starter and a team captain on the football team. His on-field accolades include honorable mention All-Northwest Conference recognition.
Noriega and his wife, Claudette, have three children.
