WR Hall & DE Graham

WR Chad Hall

On whether he has heard from anyone in his former unit in the Air Force that will be attending today's Military Day festivities: "I don't know if anyone is coming. Usually, I do run into someone. Today, I'm shaving my head, so I've heard a lot from all of my old troops, old friends still in the Air Force, even overseas in Afghanistan about shaving my head. They don't want me to, of course, because they're jealous. But (I'm) just doing it for a good cause, trying to raise some money."

On the story behind deciding to shave his head today and the cause this is benefitting: "I'm just trying to really take our minds off us and really appreciate these guys and what they do. They're over fighting for our freedom every day. We're fighting on the field, but it's so miniscule to what they really do. We're just trying to gather a bunch of money today and give back to the Wounded Warriors. For example, the players on the team, a bunch of guys are donating per swipe it takes to shave my head, an amount and then we're going to collect it all. Also, people in the community have been getting it out on the news and radio. Anyone can donate today. You just go to WoundedWarriorProject.org and make a donation or just pick up the phone and dial 855-GIVEWWP. So just trying to make it a day for them since it is Military Day."

On the last time he shaved his head: "Basic training, back in 2004."

On this time shaving his head being different than the last: "That's why I'm shaving it. People were asking, 'They are going to cut your hair?' I don't trust some of those Navy and Army guys, so I'm just shaving it. I'm going to get them to shave it all the way down."

On how long it will take him to grow his hair back to the length it is now: "I don't think I'll ever grow it back. This is the first time I've ever had it like this. But it would take six to eight months. It would take a while."

DE Brandon Graham

On potentially starting in the first preseason game and whether that is a good opportunity to prove himself: "That's going to be the first time for me to show them what I'm going to do in the games and that's how I'm taking it. Like it's my first step to where I want to be and hopefully it goes exactly how I planned it to go, how I envisioned it to go. All I can do is work hard and that's what I'm going to do and we'll see when that day comes."

On whether he would start opposite a healthy DE Trent Cole in the first preseason game: "I guess so. I don't know how coach (Reid) is going to do it, but more than likely right now, like today, I'd be running with the ones. Coach has got me, he's got the depth chart up, and I'm running with the ones so hopefully that's pretty much how it's going to go."

On whether he will split time with DE Darryl Tapp: "Me and Darryl. They might put (DT) Cullen (Jenkins) out there a couple of times too, because he's switching it up a little bit. But I feel like it'd probably be me and Darryl."

On whether he, as a player, is more like DE Jason Babin or Cole: "I'm more of a Brandon Graham (laughs). But those guys are great players. Everybody's got their own unique things about themselves. I feel like I'm just trying to get better just with my run game and just get better in all areas. So, I've just got to keep doing what (Defensive Line) Coach (Jim) Washburn asks and I can't wait. I just can't wait."

On his issues with the run game: "Just aiming points, like making sure you always, you know, have good technique and doing everything Coach Washburn (says) at practice every day. You've seen what we do in pre-practice and just make sure you master it because it works. You've just got to trust it."

On why he surprised himself in the first day of contact practice: "Just my conditioning. I know I've been working hard and all that. It's just never the same when you put the pads on and you've got to run around with helmets and shoulder pads. But you know, I was in pretty good shape and if I'm able to go hard every play, it's going to be trouble."
