Schefter: Kelly Stays At Oregon

Adam Schefter tweeted at 10:43 PM EST that Kelly has decided to remain as the head coach of Oregon, despite the temptation to test himself in the NFL.

"Chip Kelly turned down a chance to go to the NFL and returned to Oregon, according to sources," [Schefter tweeted](Chip Kelly turned down a chance to go to the NFL and to returned to Oregon, according to sources. Considered Eagles but stayed at Oregon.). "Considered Eagles but stayed at Oregon."

Rob Moseley of The Register-Guard in Oregon confirmed the report through University of Oregon sources. In fact, Pete Thamel of Sports Illustrated added that Kelly is in Nashville for the annual college coaches convention.

If true, Kelly's decision caps a whirlwind weekend during which the Eagles reportedly met with the coach for over nine hours in Arizona on Saturday.

The Eagles' trio of Chairman/CEO Jeffrey Lurie, general manager Howie Roseman and president Don Smolenski all flew to Denver from Arizona on Sunday to interview Broncos offensive coordinator Mike McCoy. Following the conclusion of that meeting, the group left to return to Philadelphia.

There are at least two more interviews scheduled for this week for the Eagles with Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator Bruce Arians and Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Gus Bradley. Bradley's Seahawks defeated the Washington Redskins on Sunday 24-14, and Bradley's defense clamped down the Redskins offense following two consecutive touchdown drives to open the game. Arians was unable to attend the Colts' playoff loss to the Baltimore Ravens after he was hospitalized with an illness, though he is expected to be fine.

In addition to McCoy and Kelly, the Eagles have already interviewed Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Mike Nolan, Falcons special teams coordinator Keith Armstrong and Penn State Bill O'Brien, who chose to return to Penn State.

We will keep you up to date on the latest information on the Eagles' coaching search as soon as information comes in here on the Rumor Mill.
