Geoff Mosher of Comcast SportsNet reported Friday that defensive tackle Cullen Jenkins is due a $1 million roster bonus on March 15, meaning the Eagles have less than a month to decide whether they'd like to pay it. According to Mosher, the Eagles have yet to give Jenkins a "thumbs up or down" regarding his status with the team next season.
Because he restructured his contract last season, Jenkins is reportedly owed $1.5 million regardless of whether he's on the team in 2013. Jenkins, 32, finished last season with 51 total tackles and 4 sacks. Though he played defensive tackle with the Eagles, Jenkins has experience at defensive end in a 3-4 scheme. This could potentially prove useful if the Eagles do indeed change defensive schemes under head coach Chip Kelly.
