Adam Caplan of Sirius NFL Radio and Scout.com, also a frequent guest on Eagles Live!, is reporting that the St. Louis Rams have signed wide receiver Danny Amendola to their active roster off of the Eagles practice squad.
Amendola was first signed by the Eagles to the practice squad during the 2008 season. He spent the off-season with the Eagles, and had four receptions for 53 yards during the preseason. Also a return specialist, Amendola returned five punts for an average of 13.8 yards per return. Former quarterbacks coach Pat Shurmur is now the offensive coordinator in St. Louis and is familiar with Amendola.
With the Rams adding Amendola, there is an open spot on the practice squad. The Philadelphia Inquirer's Bob Brookover reports that the Eagles will work out former Penn State wide receiver Jordan Norwood. A rookie free agent, Norwood was released by the Cleveland Browns at the end of training camp.
UPDATE:The St. Louis Rams officially announced that they have signed Amendola.
