The Good: Fierce, explosive defender who creates a lot of problems for the opposition. Strong in his lower body, keeps his feet moving up the field, and pushes tackles off the line. Gets leverage on opponents, plays with a great degree of explosion, and immediately alters his angle of attack, losing no momentum when he must quickly change direction. Fast off the edge, displays the ability to pursue from the back side, and rarely off his feet. Athletic, covers a lot of area on the field, and shows ability dropped off the line of scrimmage.
The Bad: Displays a marginal feel for coverage when asked to play in space. Lacks true size and bulk to hold down the defensive end position at the next level.
The Verdict: Kindle has been a disruptive player on the Texas defense and a pass rusher who makes a lot of plays behind the line of scrimmage. He could be used as a one-gap defensive end but is likely better off standing up over tackle as a rush linebacker in a 3-4 alignment. Kindle offers a good degree of upside potential, yet it may be necessary to put him in his system that reduces his read and react assignments.
