Todd Herremans has been one of the Eagles most consistent offensive linemen over the past few years, and even though he is expected to miss several games at the start of this season, Herremans believes he'll be 100 percent physically soon.

"I feel great," he said. "I don't have any pain or anything."

Herremans also said that he feels like he could play right now, but he knows it's best for him to rest his foot just a little bit longer. He suffered a stress fracture during training camp.

"I have to talk to the doctor and see what he has to say," said Herremans.

Herremans will not travel with the team to Carolina, and he said it will be frustrating to watch his teammates play without him.

Head coach Andy Reid is well-apprised of Herremans' injury situation.

"We never put a time on it to start with but I can tell you that the pain is out of it, (Todd)'s feeling good," Reid said. "He's just not weight-bearing at this particular time. You see him going around with the little scooter thing that he's got and he's got to do that for another week or so.""

Herremans has been traveling around with the help of a custom-made scooter to rest his left leg on as he walks with his right leg.

"The paint-job's coming off, I need to get a touch-up," Herremans joked about the scooter. "And I put a nice grip on the handle for comfort."

While Reid said there is no official timetable for Herremans' return, he doesn't believe it will be a prolonged absence.

"It will probably be at least two games," Reid said.

The Eagles open up in Carolina and then return home to play the Saints in week 2. The Kansas City Chiefs come to town in week 3, after which the Eagles have their bye.
