Opening remarks: "With the second pick, we took LeSean McCoy; a running back. We had an opportunity to bring him up here with the 30 players that we can bring up before the draft and visit with him. He's a relatively local kid being from Harrisburg. He went to the same high school as Ricky Watters. We thought he had great quickness, very elusive in the open field, great vision inside the tackles. He catches the ball extremely well and we look forward to bringing him in here to learn this offense. He's had a taste of it at the college level. He'll give us a little depth at running back."
On whether he could fit in as the No. 2 running back: "We'll see how it works out. We'll see how he is and how he picks everything up."
On whether he expected RB LeSean McCoy to be available this late:"We were thinking somewhere mid-second round or high-second round. We were just a bit below that obviously. When we got to that point, I didn't think teams were in need of running backs once we got down there."
On whether they explored trading up to get him if they thought he would get picked before: "Yeah, we probably would have taken that opportunity."
On the thought of both draft picks today playing just a couple of years in college: "Again, I mentioned with Jeremy (Maclin), Jeremy is highly intelligent. I think he'll be able to come in here and contribute to the kids here. Just talking to him, I think he'll be able to pick up the terminology and have a little bit of the understanding of the coverages and the schemes that we run. So, I think he can contribute this year if he comes in and does what we think he can. LeSean, he had a little bit of the taste of this in college. It won't be foreign to him. We brought him up here for his first visit and we were able to do an install with him, and teach him and see what he retained after we did that. He seemed to do a nice job of that. He should be a contributor likewise."
On McCoy's blocking ability: "He'll need to work on that. He'll work on that when he gets in. They asked him to cut block more than what we cut block. That's part of their scheme. We'll ask him to stand up and probably have 12 good shots of that on film which we can evaluate, not as much as some of the other guys."
On whether Pittsburgh's offense is similar to the Eagles and their style: "We use some of the same terminology. It's very little, but some of it is the same."
On how the day went compared to his expectations leading into the draft: "I'm excited. I think we brought in two really good athletes. I think they're explosive players and should add a little bit to our offense there."
On whether CB Sheldon Brown's comments concern him at all: "I think he'll come in and work. That's the kind of guy he is. He's a pro and he'll come in and do what he has to do."
