Eagles sign CB Trevor Williams to futures deal

The Eagles announced on Friday that they signed cornerback Trevor Williams to a futures deal.

Williams entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the then-San Diego Chargers in 2016. The 5-11, 191-pound Williams played 37 games (27 starts) with the Chargers and registered 106 tackles, three interceptions, 23 pass breakups, and a fumble recovery.

He was waived off Injured Reserve early in the 2019 season and claimed by the Arizona Cardinals where he played in two games. He was waived in October and finished the season without a team.

The 26-year-old Williams played four seasons at Penn State, starting 31 of 49 career games. He started his college career as a wide receiver then transitioned to cornerback for his final three years. He had 84 tackles, 30 passes defensed, and four interceptions in Happy Valley. He was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention selection.
