The Eagles' 27-17 win over the Giants last night was the fourth-highest rated Sunday Night Football game in history with a 15.9 overnight national rating. It was also the best November primetime NFL game in 12 years.
Sunday Night Football was the No. 1 show on Sunday night television for the 11th straight week. Eagles fans stepped up and delivered a 38.1 rating in the Philadelphia market, the highest rating for a single market. Believe it or not, quarterback Michael Vick made Sunday Night Football must-see television in the Norfolk, Va. market with a 26.3 rating, the second-highest.
The rating for Sunday night's game was a 31 percent increase over the 2009 Week 11 Sunday night game, which also included the Eagles (Eagles at Bears). Since last night's game came down to the wire, the rating peaked at 16.9 between 11:30 PM and 11:45 PM.
The Eagles were also involved in the fifth-most watched Sunday Night Football game, which was the epic Eagles-Patriots showdown from 2007. The top three games were the debut of Cowboys Stadium in 2009, the Cowboys-Redskins season opener 2010 and Vikings-Packers with Brett Favre's second trip back to Lambeau Field from earlier this season.
