CB Boykin, WR Smith Out; Matthews To Start?

Six players will not dress for the Eagles tonight in the third preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, including cornerback Brandon Boykin, who has a slight hamstring injury. Also not suiting up for the Eagles will be wide receiver Brad Smith (hamstring), which paves the way for rookie second-round pick Jordan Matthews to work with the first-team offense at slot receiver.

The other four Eagles who will not play are wide receiver Josh Huff (shoulder), running back Chris Polk (hamstring), linebacker Jake Knott (hamstring) and center Julian Vandervelde (back).

With Huff out, potential kick returners for the Eagles include Darren Sproles, Nolan Carroll II and newly acquired Kenjon Barner, among others.

Both Barner and kicker Cody Parkey, who were acquired this week, are dressed for the Eagles.

Update: Cornerback Cary Williams is also not dressed for the Eagles, potentially paving the way for Nolan Carroll II to start in his first game as an Eagle.
