WR Matthews Questionable For Sunday

Head coach Doug Pederson gave a quick update on the injury front during his Friday morning press conference, listing the statuses of running back Ryan Mathews (knee), tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (knee), Jordan Matthews (ankle) and Marcus Smith (shoulder) for this Sunday's game in Cincinnati.

"Ryan Mathews, he's doing better. Actually was able to do some more running and some change-of-direction stuff, but we're going to keep him out of this football game," Pederson said. "Then Big V as well will be ruled out for this week. Jordan Matthew is questionable and then Marcus Smith, with his shoulder from last week, is okay. He'll be good to go." After sitting out of Wednesday's practice, Matthews was a limited participant on Thursday. The wide receiver exited Monday night's game after sustaining the ankle injury following a reception in the second quarter.

Vaitai and Mathews did not participate in practice on Wednesday or Thursday due to their injuries.

Guard Brandon Brooks participated fully in practice on Thursday after suffering from an illness on Monday that caused him to miss the game against the Packers. Smith also remained a full participant in practice.

Offensive lineman Matt Tobin did not practice on Wednesday as he was with his wife Shawna for the birth of the couple's first child, a daughter named Reese. Tobin returned to practice on Thursday.

Bengals Still Without WR A.J. Green

For Cincinnati, 14 players were listed on the injury report, the biggest name of which was A.J. Green (hamstring). The wide receiver was officially ruled out on Friday after not practicing all week. He has not played since he sustained his injury at the start of the Bengals' game against the Bills. Other notable names on the injury report for Cincinnati include defensive end Carlos Dunlap (thigh/full participant), wide receiver Brandon LaFell (knee/full participant) and starting safety Shawn Williams (hamstring/full participant).
