Shawn Andrews made an appearance on the sidelines during Eagles Flight Night! After practice, he autographed and handed his jersey off to a lucky fan. Andrews has not taken place in any of the training camp practices due to tightness in his back. He was sidelined for the final 14 regular season games last year after undergoing surgery to repair a herniated disc.
"I'm just fighting to get back on the field," Andrews said on the field after Flight Night!
He wouldn't give a percentage in terms of how he's doing. When asked if he would be back on the practice field soon, Andrews simply replied, "Lord willing."
In his place at right tackle, the Eagles have used Winston Justice and Todd Herremans. This is the first season that Andrews is projected to be the starter at right tackle. He spent his first five seasons at right guard and earned a pair of Pro Bowl nominations.
