Biography

A former second-round draft pick of the Houston Texans in 2009, Connor Barwin signed a six-year contract with the Eagles during the 2013 offseason. Originally drafted as a defensive end, Barwin made the transition to outside linebacker following the 2010 season and responded to the move with 11.5 sacks in 2011, the fourth-highest total in franchise history. A 2011 USA Today All-Joe Team selection, Barwin earned AFC Defensive Player of the Month accolades in November of that year after tallying 6.5 sacks in three games which included a franchise record-setting four-sack performance in a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. A four-year starter at the University of Cincinnati, Barwin finished third on the program’s single-season sack record list with 12 as a senior in 2008 en route to first-team All-American and All-Big East Conference honors.
