Greg Salas was claimed off waivers from the New England Patriots on November 23. Originally a fourth-round draft choice of the St. Louis Rams in 2011, Salas recorded 27 receptions for 264 yards, and two punt returns for 29 yards as a rookie. He was traded to the Patriots on September 1, 2012 and signed to their practice squad on September 20. Salas played in one game for the Patriots this season after being promoted to the active roster on November 17, but was waived on November 22.
Salas started 40 of 49 games at Hawaii, finishing his collegiate career with 285 catches for 4,345 yards and 26 touchdowns. He earned named All-Western Athletic Conference honors twice and his receiving yardage total ranked first in school history, third in conference history, and tied for sixth in NCAA history. Salas is a native of Chino, CA, and attended Chino High School.
