Career Summary
An imposing receiver with tremendous size and athletic ability, New Mexico alum Hank Baskett averaged 15.9 yards per catch over his first two years with the Eagles and was voted as the special teams MVP by his teammates in 2007. Originally a rookie free agent signee of the Vikings, Baskett was acquired by the Eagles in an offseason trade with Minnesota for WR Billy McMullen.

Birdseed
BIRDSEED:
• Serves as team spokesman for the NFL-wide community-based ""What Moves U?"" program, a program designed to motivate school children to become more physically active.
• Takes inspiration from his high school track coach, Mike Hankins, who offered this advice after the despondent Baskett went undrafted in 2006: "We have a 24-hour rule at our house," Hankins told Baskett. "You can feel down and gripe about something for 24 hours, but after that you put it behind you and you go to the task at hand and take care of your business." After the 21st hour, Baskett went on a two-mile run and put it behind him
• Holding the New Mexico high school record with a 7'-0" high jump, Baskett captured the Mountain West conference championship as a junior at New Mexico. It's a skill that he continues to apply on the football field. "High jumping taught me body control. Especially in those jump ball situations."

• Former Eagles WR and current WYSP color commentator Mike Quick on Baskett's potential: "Baskett was overlooked in the draft, but it's obvious to me that if he takes care of himself, he'll make plays for a long time in this league. Baskett kind of reminds me of Cris Carter…he has the same type of speed and he has great hands. I think he can develop into a very productive player for a long period of time."
