Career Summary
Originally signed as a rookie free agent in 2003, Lewis quickly absorbed the West Coast offense even though he did not start as a senior at Illinois. In 2004, the sure-handed receiver and excellent special teams contributor inked a five-year contract extension through 2011.

2007 HIGHLIGHTS:
• Hauled in a 9-yd. TD from QB Donovan McNabb in a win at NO (12/23)
• Set a career-high with 88 receiving yds and hauled in a career-high-tying 2 TDs at NE (11/25). In addition, all 4 of his receptions were successful 3rd-down conversions
• Caught a regular season career-long 50-yd. pass from QB Donovan McNabb at Min. (10/28)
2006 HIGHLIGHTS:
• Posted 24 catches for 348 yds. and a career-high 2 TDs. 20 of his 24 receptions (83.3%) resulted in a 1st down, the highest percentage on the team, and 13 of those occurred on 3rd down
• Caught a career-high 2 TD passes, (45 yds. & 30 yds.), to go along with a career-high 75 yds. vs. GB (10/2/06)
2005 HIGHLIGHTS:
• Started all 16 games and set career highs in recepts. (48) and receiving yards (561), along with 1 TD
• Tied a career high with 6 catches vs. Oak. (9/25/05)
• Caught a 6-yd. TD pass from Donovan McNabb for his first career regular season TD vs. SF (9/18/05)
2004 HIGHLIGHTS:
• Posted a career high in special teams tackles (15)
• Hauled in his 1st career TD, a 30-yd. strike from McNabb, late in the 4th qtr. of Super Bowl 39 vs. NE (2/6/05)
• Was 2-65 rec. in the NFC Championship game vs. Atl. (1/23/05), including a 45-yd. bomb from McNabb. Also took a pitch from McNabb and raced 10 yds. for a first down
• Made 2 catches for 64 yds., including a 52-yd. strike from McNabb, in the NFC Divisional Playoff vs. Min. (1/16/05)
• Recorded his first rushing attempt on a double-reverse for 11 yds. and a 1st down at Chi. (10/3/04)

• Made 11 special teams tackles in 11 games during his rookie season

BIRDSEED:
• Was not your typical jock as a youngster. In fact, he was on the chess team in junior high and high school. He learned to play from his father and his claim to fame was that he held the number one board in 6th grade for two weeks before he was eventually beaten.
• Along with his cousin, Walter Young (Steelers), Aaron Moorehead (Panthers) and Carey Davis (Steelers), runs the "Deep Threat Football Camp" at Deerfield (IL) HS. For more information on the camp log onto Glew83.com
• He and his wife annually provide two scholarships to students at Rich South H.S. One is in memory of their friend Sarah Marie Pikes and the other in Greg's name.
PERSONAL:
• He and wife, Tamika Lewis, gave birth to their first child, Gregory Alan Lewis III, on 1/11/08 at 11:18 am. The baby weighed 6 lbs. 11 oz., was 18 inches long and their room number was 1118. Shortly thereafter, Greg said he is on his way to Atlantic City to put all his money on the numbers 11 & 18.
• Resides with his wife, Tamika, and their cocker spaniel, Buddy. Greg and Tamika met in grade school, but did not begin dating until college. Tamika attended Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and graduated with a BA in Sociology.
• Grew up on the south side of Chicago before moving to Matteson, with his family. His father, Greg Sr., works for the Manheim Auto Auction while his mother, Willie Ann, was a 4th and 5th grade teacher in the Chicago public school system. His sister, Patricia is married and is a 4th grade teacher
• Attended Rich South HS in Richton Park, IL, where he had his jersey, #8, retired in 2004. Caught 56 passes for 880 yards and 13 TDs during his senior season which concluded with all-conference, all-area, and all-state honors by the Chicago Tribune
• Also lettered in basketball, earning all-area honors as a three-year starter at point guard
• With no scholarship offers, decided to walk on at Illinois because his cousin, Walter Young (a WR with Pittsburgh), was there
• Quit football as a walk-on freshman at Illinois, but was encouraged to return by his roommates, Aaron Moorehead (Panthers) and Young, the next year. "I always felt I was better than those who received scholarships and were drafted into the NFL. It still motivates me to this day."
• Participated in a 2005 Chunky Soup commercial
• An avid fan of his hometown Cubs, he threw out the first pitch at their game on July 15, 2005 vs. the Pittsburgh Pirates. He also sang "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" at Wrigley Field with four Illiniois teammates and his former coach, Ron Turner. "I watched the tape and you can tell that I was off key," said Lewis
• Nicknamed "Foots" as a freshman at Illinois because when he ran, his feet moved east and west. Now referred to as "G-Lew" by his Eagle teammates
• While at Illinois, worked on the stadium maintenance crew during the summers
• Enjoys playing internet dominoes, chess and spades on AOL
• Plays on the Eagles offseason basketball team. Focuses on filling the stat sheet with assists, steals and rebounds
• When his football career is over, could see himelf getting into coaching or working with an agent in player relations
• Enjoys competing against fellow WR Hank Baskett in bowling
• Enjoys watching reality TV shows such as "Flavor of Love," "Charm School" and "Real World-Road Rules Challenge"
• Earned a degree in speech communications

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS:
A former walk-on, he finished his career with 103 recepts., to rank 10th on Illinois all-time list, 1,456 receiving yards (8th) and 12 TDs. Served as the Illini's third receiver as a senior and finished the 2002 season ranked 3rd on the team with 38 receptions for 538 yards and 4 TDs.
INJURY HISTORY:
Was inactive at NYJ (10/14/07) due to an ankle sprain.
