A burly guard who was selected by the Eagles in the fourth round in 2006, Max Jean-Gilles spent his first two seasons working under the tutelage of Eagles offensive line coach Juan Castillo and is a viable backup in the offensive line.

2007 HIGHLIGHTS:
• Made his 1st career start at NO (12/23) in place of injured RG Shawn Andrews
• Played nearly the entire game at RG after Shawn Andrews left with an injury in the 1st qtr. at Dal. (12/16)
• Played in his 1st NFL game, filling in at RG for an injured Shawn Andrews during the 2nd qtr. vs. Det. (9/23).

BIRDSEED:
• His greatest hobby is his love for music. His 60 GB iPod is filled to the brim with all kinds of music, but predominantly Hip Hop and R&B. Some of his favorite artists are: T.I., Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne, and Trick Daddy. "I'm running out of room on my iPod. I've gotta get an 80 GB just so I can have all my music with  me all the time. I love all kinds of music and I am a big fan of up-and-coming artists from the south. I'd really like to learn to play the guitar, too."

IN THE TRENCHES:
• The o-lineman he admires most: C Nick Jones (Seattle Seahawks) - "Nick and I played side-by-side at Georgia. If I had a tough day he would pick me up and I would do the same for him. We competed all the time and made each other so much better."
• What he loves most about being an o-lineman: "I love to be able to push people around. If I have a bad day I get paid to take it out on somebody." 
• How he felt about his rookie season in the NFL: "I had crazy things thrown at me at 100 miles per hour. I realized that there is so much technique involved in pass blocking and I think I am so much better than when I first got here. That's because of Coach Castillo. Once he gets my technique where it needs to be, then I can just use my strength which is my strength."

PERSONAL:
• Engaged to Maggie Joseph and is set to be married on 3/8/08. The couple were high school sweethearts since 2002. They live in both the College Park area of Atlanta, GA, and Magnolia, NJ.  Maggie is a teacher in New Jersey
• Enjoys playing basketball with Maggie, who was a point guard at the University of Tampa 
• His parents, Macine and Sorisena, immigrated to the United States in the mid-1980s from Haiti. Macine is a welder by trade and Sorisena is a registered nurse at a private care facility. Used to work with his father helping to weld such things as fences, gates, security windows, etc. He also has a 12-year-old brother, Matthew
• Earned All-America honors at North Miami Beach HS, where he was a two-time team MVP and three-year team captain. Was the Florida HS POY as a senior. Played in the Georgia-Florida and the Florida-California All-Star games. Was a two-way lineman, registering 94 tackles, 8 sacks and 7 blocked kicks on defense and special teams. Also threw the shotput and discus 
• Nicknamed "The Black Hole" in college - "Once I got my hands on you, you'd disappear!"
• Began coaching high school football at his alma mater, North Miami Beach HS, in the spring of 2006. Aspires to be a coach once his playing days are over
• Returns to the University of Georgia to take part in various community service programs 
• Has concentrated on adding much more cardio-vascular exercise during his offseason conditioning
• Loves to play Madden on-line and collects movies. His favorite recent movies include Disturbia and 300
• Is a fan of the Miami Heat
• Majored in sociology and would someday like to get into business management to utilize his people skills

COLLEGE HIGHLIGHTS:
Allowed just 3 sacks in 40 career starts at Georgia, where his class earned a school-record 44 victories. Did not miss any game action due to injury. Was a consensus All-America selection in 2005, and was twice named SEC offensive lineman of the week. Shifted from tackle to guard as a junior and earned 1st-team All-SEC honors. Started at tackle in 2003, earning second-team All-SEC accolades. Was a reserve tackle as a true freshman in 2002.
