Todd Lyght
Assistant Defensive Backs Coach

Biography

A former cornerback with 12 years of NFL playing experience, Todd Lyght was named the Eagles assistant defensive backs coach on February 8, 2013. Lyght, who most recently served as a coaching intern at Oregon, rejoins Chip Kelly’s coaching staff in Philadelphia.

In 2013, the Eagles defense tied for third in the NFL with 12 games of holding their opponents to 21 points or less and ranked tied for third in the league with 31 takeaways, trailing only Seattle (39) and Kansas City (36). With Lyght’s assistance, CB Brandon Boykin led the team and tied for second in the NFL with a career-best six interceptions.


Lyght joined Oregon after a two-year stint as a defensive backs assistant at Bishop Gorman High School in Nevada. While on staff, Lyght helped the Gaels win back-to-back state championships in 2009-10.
